The IAEI Northwest
Section is
proud to announce the winner of the
1st Annual
NW Spirit Award.
This honor is in recognition of
his many years of outstanding service and leadership not
only in the electrical industry as a whole but especially
for our own NorthWest Section. Phil has generously provided
valuable insights and instruction over the years. He is
very skilled in engaging audience participation and
communicates effectively with well designed presentations.
He has tirelessly helped all of us in the industry achieve
a higher degree of professional excellence. We are very
proud to honor Phil with the first annual NW Spirit Award.

Philip Simmons

J. Philip
Simmons has been self- employed as Simmons Electrical
Services from July 1999 to the present. Phil served IAEI as
executive director from 1990 to 1995 and as education,
codes and standards coordinator from 1995 through June
1999. He was IAEI International president in 1987 and also
served as secretary-treasurer of the Puget Sound Chapter
and Northwestern Section. He is a former member of
NFPA Standards Council and NEC Technical Correlating
Committee, past chair of NFPA Electrical Section, former
member of NEC CMP-1 and 17, former acting chairman of NEC
CMP-5, and past chairman of NEC CMP-19
The second annual recipient will be announced at the
NW Section
Meeting in Boise Idaho
