Art 210 Branch Circuits
This program will take a close look at how the requirements
found in the NEC apply to the design and installation of
Branch Circuits. Review the types of Brach Circuits
permitted or required in the NEC from general purpose and
individual branch circuits, to appliance and multiwire
branch circuits. Learn when multiple loads may be connected
to the same Branch Circuit and when Individual Branch
Circuits are required. Find out how the State modified the
new rules for Multi-wire Branch Circuits in the 2008
Edition of the NEC. When and where AFCI and GFCI protection
will be required for loads connected to various Branch
Circuits. Apply the correction and adjustment factors for
Branch Circuits that are serving continuous loads, or run
in ambient temperatures that exceed 30°C (86°F), or up on a
rooftop in the Puget Sound Area. Examine the requirements
found in Art 240 and Art 422 for sizing overcurrent
devices. Review when it is permitted to use single-pole
circuit breakers with approved handle ties on various
Branch Circuits.
